About

A weekday café for the offices around 3rd Avenue.

The Bread & Butter Cafe sits on the fifth floor of 100 SE 3rd Avenue, in the middle of downtown Fort Lauderdale. We’re open Monday to Friday, 8:30 in the morning until 2:30 in the afternoon, the hours the buildings around us keep.

How we cook

Everything is made to order. The eggs go on when your ticket prints, the salads are dressed when you ask for them, and the chicken salad and tuna salad are mixed here rather than arriving in a tub.

It’s a short menu on purpose. Breakfast sandwiches and omelettes run all day, because someone always wants eggs at one in the afternoon. Lunch is sandwiches, salads and a handful of plates we’re known for: the shrimp and grits, the honey butter chicken sandwich, the firecracker shrimp.

How pickup works

Order on the site, choose a fifteen-minute pickup window, and pay by card. We cap the number of orders in each window, so the time you pick is a time we can actually hit, not a guess.

Come up to Suite 500 and give the name on the order. If you’re ordering outside our hours, the menu stays open and you can book the next morning; plenty of people set up Monday breakfast on a Sunday evening.

We also deliver to the offices around us. We’re not on the delivery apps, so ordering here goes straight to our kitchen.

Meet Jennifer

Owner, The Bread & Butter Cafe

Hi, I’m Jennifer, owner of The Bread & Butter Cafe.

My passion for cooking and baking began when I was a child. I was always creating recipes, baking for family, and finding joy in the kitchen. Looking back, I realize that passion was always leading me toward this career. I just didn’t recognize it at the time. One day it simply clicked that sharing my love of food with others was exactly what I was meant to do.

As both a business owner and a mother, I know how meaningful a homemade meal and a warm welcome can be. That’s why everything at The Bread & Butter Cafe is made from scratch with quality ingredients, genuine care, and a whole lot of love. I believe great food starts with appreciation, not only for the ingredients, but for every customer who chooses to spend their time and money with us.

My goal is for every person who walks through our doors to feel appreciated, cared for, and completely at home. Whether you’re grabbing your morning coffee, enjoying lunch, or asking for that extra side of mayo, I want you to feel comfortable, welcomed, and confident that you’re in good hands.

Thank you for supporting my dream. It is truly a privilege to serve you, and I hope every visit leaves you feeling like part of our family.
